The City of Petaluma has more parks than the six identified in my blog dated 7-13-08.

Lucy Kortum, a researcher at the Petaluma Historical Museum & Library sent in more names to share, and the Chamber of Commerce lists 34 of the 40 parks maintained by the Parks Division throughout the city. In addition to the “large” community parks named after Petalumans, there are many more “smaller” parks named after Indians, sport teams, a horse, as well as people. As you read the list, identify those that you have visited at least once.

Anna’s Meadows, Bond Park, Cavanaugh Landing, Cherry Valley Park, Country Club Open Space, Del Oro (1), Eagle Park, Glenbrook Park, Grant Park, Helen Putnam Park, Kenilworth Park, LaTercera Park, Leghorns Park, Lucchesi Park, Penry Park, McDowell Park, McDowell Meadows, McNear Park (2), Meadow View, Miwok Park (3), Oak Hill Park (4), Prince Park, Putnam Plaza, Rocky Memorial Dog Park, Shollenberger Park (5), Sunrise Parkway, Sunset Park, Walnut Park , Westridge Open Space, Wickersham Park, and Wiseman Airport Park.

They add up to more than 400 acres. It looks like I have a few to check out. Enjoy!
