• Did you know that on the last Wednesday of each month, from 10:320 am until Noon at the Historical Museum, there is an informal conversation group known as the SAGES of Petaluma? This group of Sincere, Active, Gracious, and Energetic Senior citizens has been gathering for over three years to reflect on the good old days of living, working, and playing in our favorite River Town.

Quite often, the conversations will focus on annual events like the County Fair, the Butter & Egg Days parade, major holidays like Memorial Day, or a current community concern or issue. Other times, the group will recall their school days, discuss how the town has changed over the years, and their favorite restaurants and shopping stores. Everyone (if they chose to) joins the conversation, or just sits in and listens. Many in the group have lived in Petaluma all their lives.

This coming Thursday (6-27-13) we’ll start the conversation by recalling past celebrations of the 4th of July. So, if you would like to become a SAGE of Petaluma (no matter how long you have been a resident), just show up by 10:30 am, and introduce yourself.
