Not to scare you!  For the past several week, FEMA and Citizen Corps have been spreading the word about National Emergency Preparedness Month (September). 2010 will be the fourth year that Petaluma ALERT has participated, as a partner, by promoting CERT (Community Emergency Response Teams), NERT (Neighborhood Emergency Response Teams) and CERN (Community Emergency Radio Network.)

The two-year ALERT project (Alliance of Local Emergency Response Teams) was completed in 2008, and brought local community Emergency Preparedness programs together with a focus on Neighborhood Emergency Response Teams. A NERT website, (http://www.petalumanert.org) was created with one section devoted entirely to federal, state, county, and city emergency and disaster preparedness information.
